My approach to care:

Jorge works as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), has over 17 years of experience working with many different populations and backgrounds in the mental health field, and sees his work as a passion to support those who seek clarity during times of difficult challenges/transitions.

Jorge believes everyone has the potential to reach their desired goals so they may be in a place in their lives that creates balance, a sense of self-organization, and a positive stimulating experience. Using a genuine and compassionate approach that creates a safe place to express oneself, and working with you to help achieve your goals when it comes to dealing with both external (people, places, and things) and internal (behaviors, feelings, and thoughts) obstacles/stressors. Jorge utilizes a Reality/Choice Theory model that is an evidence-based treatment approach when focusing on the whole person be it emotional and physical health but also helping you with your insight into your situation through education/skill-building resources. Jorge also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MT), Mindfulness techniques, Psycho-Education, and other treatment approaches to help those on their current journey. Clinical background/interests include Adults, Anxiety, Crisis Management/Support, Depression, Domestic Violence Survivors, Eating Disorders, Elder Adults, LGBTQ populations, Mood Disorders, PTSD/Trauma, Refugee work (mainly Latin America), Self-Injury, and Psychosis.
