My approach to care:

As an individual, I believe that therapy is most successful when it is a truly collaborative process. It is my goal to provide compassionate and informed care for the individual to decide what areas of their lives ate most important to focus on. I strive to work alongside clients to both witness distress with compassion and challenge clients to identify patterns that may no longer be supportive to them in a way that they once were. The therapy space is not a vacuum and I believe it is imperative to look through both anti-oppressive and social justice lenses to inform dynamics that may occur throughout the therapeutic practice.

I believe that one’s care should fit the need of the individual. Through this belief, I have an eclectic style. My foundation as a practitioner is being trauma-informed and focused. I center my work around the relational work, where the focus lies on how the relationship between myself and the client can serve as practice to put new patterns of relating to the test. I was trained from a psychodynamic framework and look at attachment challenges that may impact relationships, which leads me to remain curious not only about the person that one is today, but how that person came to be. I also find a lot of relief can be found in coping strategies from both DBT and CBT.

Walking is my go-to way to both begin and end the day. My time walking allows me to both feel rejuvenated and process my emotions about the day. I am an avid crafter who enjoys different mediums such as knitting, crocheting, drawing, sewing, and beading. It feels so enriching to me to watch the process of my efforts transforming into a complete piece.
